Important Notice – Cyber  Security

The term ‘Cybercrime’ means the use of computers or the internet for criminal activities.

It is vital that in today’s modern fast pace and increasingly digital world our clients feel safe in their interaction with Hall & Birtles Solicitors.

Cybercrime is becoming more prevalent and increasingly more sophisticated. Further, it is known, that transactions involving the transfer of monies between solicitors and their clients are being targeted by criminals. Some reported incidents of cybercrime have involved emails between individuals being intercepted and responded to by the criminals. Hall & Birtles Solicitors advise all our clients to be vigilant regarding fraud and to be aware of the following:

WE WILL NEVER INFORM YOU BY EMAIL, POST, OR TEXT THAT OUR BANKING DETAILS HAVE CHANGED.

It is vital that if you receive any such notification, even if it appears on headed paper and appears genuine that you immediately telephone the office using the telephone number which appears on our web site www.hallandbirtles.co.uk or on previous official paperwork to speak to the member of staff dealing with your matter.

To be clear the only safe and acceptable means of being certain of Hall & Birtles Solicitors bank details and they being certain of yours is by face to face communication and / or telephone contact with a member of staff personally known to you.

Hall & Birtles Solicitors cannot take any responsibility if the monies you are transferring do not reach the correct nominated account.
