North Yorkshire born and bred, Stuart is able to share his extensive local knowledge to clients looking to move into the area.

Stuart qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and has experience in a wide range of property transactions including all aspects of residential conveyancing, commercial property sales and purchases, and plot/new build purchases.

Stuart also deals with private client work including the preparation of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection matters and the administration of estates.

Outside of work, Stuart enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children.  He is also a local school governor and at weekends takes charge of Spennithorne U8s Junior Football Club having recently qualified as a FA Level 1 coach.

Mrs Debby Parish LLB

Debby has been qualified for in excess of twenty four years working for three firms in South Lakeland before moving to the Yorkshire Dales in 2003.

She specializes in divorce and family law including issues regarding child contact, financial aspects of a divorce or separation including Clean Break Orders, Separation Agreements, pre-nuptial settlements and more. She is particularly experienced in farming divorces involving complex farming accounts.

Debby is happy to give advice on Lasting Powers and Wills, Change of Name Deeds and administration of estates when a loved one has died.

Her interests outside the office are her family John, Scarlett and Imogen, following Formula 1, baking and walking Wisp her Shetland sheepdog.

Debby is a Governor at Saint Francis Xavier School Richmond.

Mr Alastair C. Birtles BA (Hons)
Director

 

Alastair graduated from Huddersfield University with a BA (Hons) in History with Sociology. Having then spent time working and travelling in France, Spain, and North America he then returned to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law course and the Legal Practice course. Alastair specialises in Residential and Commercial property transactions, Family matters, Wills, Probate, and Administration of Estates.

Alastair loves playing and watching sport, and playing the guitar and piano although time for those activities is now limited, as whatever spare time is available he enjoys with his wife and three daughters.

Mr Michael S. Birtles LLB
Consultant

 

Michael Birtles qualified as a solicitor in 1974 and for over 30 years practised in Kirkby Stephen having previously worked in other parts of the Eden valley. He undertakes all types of legal work including Trusts, Divorce and Matrimonial matters, Employment, Commercial and Private Disputes, and Agricultural work.

Michael enjoys travelling, gardening, a wide variety of music, watching most types of sports, especially football, cricket and golf in his spare time

Mr John C. Hall LLB
Consultant

 

John began his legal career at a law firm in Norwich, qualifying as a solicitor in 1974. He then moved to the Yorkshire Dales in the late 1970s and has in excess of 40 years experience in dealing with all types of private client matters.

John continues on as a consultant to the firm bringing a wealth of experience.

John enjoys walking, travelling, watching sport and spending time with his grandchildren.
